"I don't know anything about therapy, I'm still trying to learn the concept of it."

Three younger Latino men created a video where they meet with a therapist who is Latinx. This video allows the men to ask questions of the therapist as a group, each have a first therapy session with her, and then share about what insights they learned. As first time therapy seekers, they wonder what therapy is like and what they will have to talk about. They ask about the therapist’s role and muse over whether or not they feel ready to talk about the past or want to start with present-day concerns. They also note how their cultural heritage and upbringing impacts their notions about therapy, and they wonder how their culture and values will be heard.

Overall, these three Latino men are naming common concerns for people who are considering therapy, and their video can make the process of starting therapy less mysterious.
