To commemorate Black History Month, the FAS Equity Diversity and Inclusion Committee and HealthPoint will host their third gathering of Building Community in a Time of Change, Friday, Feb 11, 2022, 11:30 AM -1:00 PM.

Due to historical, economic, and social influences, the Black community is at a significantly increased risk of developing mental health issues compared to white communities and other BIPOC communities. Research shows these exposures can negatively impact individuals' psychological and physical well-being. These experiences juxtapose the trailblazing accomplishments made by public and hidden figures in the Black community.

Facilitated by Rakima Parson, LPC-S, we invite you to join us in honoring the shared hardships and celebrating the triumphs and brilliance of these individuals who are all part of the Black story, the Black identity. Participants will receive psychoeducation and prompts to discuss cultivating joy amid chronic stressors. In the words of the incomparable Audre Lorde, "Without community, there is no liberation," so join us! Register here.
