An 8-week Virtual Postpartum Support Group for New Moms
Since becoming a mom, you may be finding it challenging to slow down, get grounded in your new role, and learn how to prioritize your own well-being. The transition to motherhood is one of the most challenging life adjustments. It can feel isolating, overwhelming, and the good news is you don’t have to do this alone. This support group is an opportunity for new moms with babies or toddlers two years or under to connect, share experiences, and receive support. The group will include a psychoeducational component as well as open discussion and support. Topics may include but are not limited to: feeding, sleeping, stress management, co-parenting, societal expectations, healthy boundaries, self-care, mom guilt, balancing being a working mom, and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders.
This therapeutic group co-facilitated by an EAP counselor and our graduate social work intern will meet via Zoom on Wednesdays 10:30am-12:00pm beginning on February 12th and ending on April 9th, with a week off during spring break. Group is limited to 12 participants and each member must commit to attending all 8 sessions. Group members will attend a pre-group interview with the facilitators before entry into the group.
