Fighting, Fleeing, and Freezing my Way Through the Day (and Other Stress Responses)

As humans we are wired for survival and have an inherent need for connection and safety. This extends throughout our day from our home life, to work, to traffic, to the grocery store, and other experiences. The state of our mind and body dictates how we react to situations, people, environments, and other factors. Understanding our stress responses and what others bring to the environment, gives us the power to regulate ourselves at times when we feel dysregulated, stressed, or overwhelmed. In this workshop, we will discuss the mind-body connection, outline the various stress responses, and begin to identify your go-to survival mechanisms. This workshop will involve an educational component as well as participant discussion.
