Crisis Intervention Services

HealthPoint Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides emergency consultations to respond to critical incidents and crisis situations during regular business hours. EAP also has after-hours support available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week (including holidays) for situations that need immediate intervention. 


For Individuals (Faculty, staff, or benefits-eligible family members)

If you, a direct report, colleague, or family member are in crisis and need an urgent consultation or appointment, call 512-471-3366 to request assistance.*

  • Business hours: EAP clinicians provide emergency coverage during regular business hours (8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday–Friday) for critical concerns.
     
  • After hours: EAP provides 24 hours a day, 7 days per week (including holidays) counseling hotline for crisis situations that need immediate intervention.
    • Call 512-471-3399 to access the 24-hour hotline staffed by licensed counselors.

*If you are in immediate danger or facing harm, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. You can also call or text 988 to reach the National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for urgent support and assistance


For Teams

Unexpected crises or critical incidents, such as the death of a colleague, may occur and have a tremendous impact on the work team and workplace.

  • EAP provides group and individual debriefing services and grief support sessions to respond to tragedies that impact the work environment (e.g., death of a co-worker, patient, or student; fire or assault).
     
  • Supervisors can support their work teams by contacting EAP as soon as possible to coordinate services for crisis response and team/self-care.
